Former Ross County midfielder Victor Loturi grabs a goal and an assist against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami for Montreal Impact in latest round of MLS fixtures

A former Ross County player has scored in a match against a legendary Barcelona quartet - including Lionel Messi.

Victor Loturi spent two and-a-half years in Dingwall, initially signing for the Staggies alongside his brother William Akio and going on to make 85 appearances across all competitions.

His spell in the Scottish Highlands came to an end earlier this year, signing for Montreal Impact in the MLS in January.

That put the 24-year-old in the same league as some of football’s all-time greats, and overnight Montreal took on a star-studded Inter Miami side.

Co-owned by David Beckham and managed by former Liverpool, Barcelona and Argentina man Javier Mascherano; on the pitch Loturi was going up against the likes of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

The latter two both found the net, with ex-Liverpool star Suarez hitting a double – including his 500th career goal – in between a brace for Messi.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, that meant Inter Miami claimed all three points, but it was Loturi who had the last laugh by scoring a goal in stoppage time as a consolation for Montreal, having earlier provided an assist for teammate Dante Sealy in what ended up as a 4-2 defeat for Impact.
