Former Ross County forward Liam Boyce leaves Hearts as he returns to Northern Ireland to sign for Derry City
FORMER Ross County forward Liam Boyce has left Scotland and returned to his native Northern Ireland to sign for Derry City.
The 33-year-old has left Hearts to join the League of Ireland Premier Division outfit on a two-year contract.
Boyce, who has played 28 times from Northern Ireland, played for Ross County for three seasons, joining the Staggies in 2014 from Cliftonville.
He played 99 times for Ross County and scored 48 goals. He was also in the League Cup winning team which defeated Hibernian 2-1 in the final in 2016.
After leaving Ross County in 2017, Boyce moved to England to sign for Burton Albion in 2020. He then returned to Scotland to sign for Hearts where he played 93 times and scored 25 goals.

Derry City boss Tiernan Lynch said: “It’s great to get another International footballer into the club and we’re delighted to have him at the Brandywell.
“You only have to look at Liam’s record in England and Scotland over the last ten years, to see the quality that he brings. He’s a proven goalscorer and a great addition for us.
“We’re looking forward to our training camp next week and it’ll be an ideal opportunity for Liam to get to know the rest of the boys ahead of the new season.”
