LACHLAN Oates claimed victory in the final race of the North Cross Country League fixture of the season at Forres.
The Lossiemouth based runner proved too good for the chasing pack on Saturday as he claimed victory in a time of 29 minutes and two seconds.
He was 13 seconds clear of Kenny Wilson of Moray Road Runners who completed the course in 29.15, with Ben Livesey third in a time of 29.56.
In the women’s race, Catriona Greaves of Highland Hill Runners claimed victory in a time of 34.43.
Fellow HHR athlete Sarah Attwood was in second place in 35.41 with Moira Davie of Forres Harriers in third place in 36.09.
In the Under-17 men’s race, Roy Taylor of East Sutherland Athletics Club came out on top when he won in a time of 20.57.
Sam Coull of Inverness Harriers was second with a time of 21.34.
Noah Carson of Ross County was in third with a time 22.37.
Katie Meek of Inverness Harriers won the women’s race in a time of 18.17.
Kirsten Burnett of Inverness Harriers was second in 19.45.
Beth Urquhart of Moray Road Runners was third in 19.47.
Andrew Baird of Ross County won the under-15 boys’ race in 15.17 with his teammate Lachlan Thomas second in 15.31 and Israel Noble of Fraserburgh Running Club in third with 15.39.
Lois Macrae of Inverness Harriers won the under-15 girls race in 16.55. Jessica Needs of Peterhead was second in 18.26 with Flora Sutherland third in 18.42.
Robbie Welsh of Ross County Athletics Club won the under-13 boys’ race in 13.21.
Inverness Harrier Anna Meek won the under-13 girls race in 13.34.
Reuben Urquhart of East Sutherland Athletics Club won the under-11 boys race in a time of 5.54. Niamh Doorley of Inverness Harriers won the under-11 girls race in 6.24.
