Ross County’s next opponents searching for a new manager after Hearts sack head coach Neil Critchley following defeat to Dundee

Ross County’s next opponents Hearts have confirmed the departure of head coach Neil Critchley and his assistant Mike Garrity.

The Jambos fell out of the Scottish Premiership’s top six on the final matchday before the split, before going on to lose after extra time to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi final.

Critchley had won 15 of his 35 matches in charge at Tynecastle, but that recent drop off in form, culminating in a 1-0 defeat to Dundee this afternoon which saw the Dens Park side move out of the league’s bottom two, has proved too much for the former Blackpool manager’s tenure.

He has been relieved of his duties alongside Garrity, with Liam Fox now due to be in the dugout when Hearts visit Dingwall next Saturday.

Defeat in the Highlands would mean Hearts are only a single result clear of the relegation play-off, but County may have to be wary of the fated new manager’s bounce after their own defeat to Kilmarnock this weekend.
