St Mirren striker Eamonn Brophy returns to Dingwall after signing permanent deal with Ross County

Ross County have confirmed the signing of Eamonn Brophy from St Mirren.

Although the 27-year-old's season was cut short by injury, the impact he had on the Staggies was clear to see in his eight appearances for the club on loan in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

Scoring three goals, he added potency to what had been a misfiring attack in the first half of the season.

Brophy also brings valuable experience to the Dingwall outfit, playing over 200 games in Scottish football and scoring 59 goals in the process, while also featuring for Scotland's national team in 2019.

County manager Malky Mackay told the club's website: "We are delighted to welcome Eamonn back to the club.

"His impact during his spell last season was significant and he became a popular member of the squad.

"His experience in the Scottish game is clear to see and he is another great attacking option added to the squad."

Brophy's arrival has certainly excited County fans, and they could have more good news to look forward to as reports have suggested one of the striker's former teammates at St Mirren, Jay Henderson, could be set to follow him to Dingwall.

Henderson had also spent the second half of last season on loan in the Highlands, impressing for the Staggies' rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Already this week County completed the signing of midfielder Max Sheaf from Redditch United, and secured a return for homegrown talent Josh Reid from Coventry City.

Alex Samuel, Ross Munro, Logan Ross and Ryan Macleman have each also signed contract extensions in what has been a busy week at the Global Energy Stadium.
