Ross County edged out in five-goal contest in Paisley as St Mirren secure top six spot in Scottish Premiership
Ross County lost out in a back and forth match against St Mirren, eventually being defeated 3-2 in Paisley.
Ronan Hale, restored to the starting 11 for the first time since the Staggies’ defeat away at St Johnstone at the end of February, opened the scoring in the 21st minute.
The Northern Ireland striker was in the right place at the right time to turn home an effort amidst pinball inside the home penalty box.
County would push for a second goal, with both Hale and Nohan Kenneh forcing Zach Hemming into saves shortly after the opening goal, but St Mirren would find a way to equalise.
It was in the 35th minute that Caolan Boyd-Munce took aim from distance, and managed to beat Jordan Amissah to level the scores going into half time.
Boyd-Munce would turn provider shortly after the restart as St Mirren took the lead, with Jonah Ayunga slotting home to make it 2-1 to the hosts in Paisley.

Jordan White would equalise just after the hour mark, heading in Zac Ashworth’s corner kick.
There would be a late twist in the tale, though, with Roland Idowu firing in from range to put St Mirren 3-2 up with just minutes left to play.
The result means St Mirren secured sixth spot in the league table, with Ross County remaining in 10th ahead of tomorrow’s fixtures.
