Strathpeffer cyclist Fin Graham wins gold medal in road race at UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Canada

After missing out by a fraction in Friday's time trial, Fin Graham can finally call himself world champion.

Competing in the road race at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, Graham crossed the line first to win a gold medal and stand atop the podium in the men's C3 category.

On Friday, the 22-year-old had missed out on winning the time trial by 0.08 seconds in Baie-Comeau, just behind Spaniard Eduardo Santas Asensio.

There was no such drama this time around though, as Graham finished a full 14 seconds ahead of Germany's Steffen Warias, with Santas Asensio 10 seconds further back in third.

Graham's time over the 70.2km course was 1:49:31, with only the top four clocking in at under 1:50:00.

Posting on social media after his triumph, Graham said: "I can't believe it. Thank you so much to everyone for all the support and messages. It means so much."
