Strathpeffer cyclist Fin Graham winning road race gold medal at 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris voted Scottish Cycling’s moment of the year

Fin Graham has won Scottish Cycling’s moment of the year award at their annual ceremony.

The 25-year-old from Strathpeffer clinched gold at the Paralympic Games in a sprint finish ahead of home athlete Thomas Peyroton-Dartet.

Such a dramatic climax to the biggest race of his year was always likely to stand out as one of the memorable moments of 2024, but even up against fellow Olympic and Paralympic champions Graham came out on top in the public vote.

His dash for the line claimed 51 per cent of the public vote, meaning Graham added one more accolade to his tally for the year.

It was not to be a double for Graham, who had also been nominated for the men’s cyclist of the year award, as that went to Oscar Onley, who became the first Scottish-developed rider to compete in the Tour De France for 31 years, winning the young riders’ classification and finishing second overall.

There are still hopes for more awards potentially coming his way, though, as he has also been nominated in the para male athlete of the year category at the Scottish Sports Awards, which take place early next month.
